Véronique COUTANT-GODARD
Monotype, a unique print.
It is a spontaneous and immediate way to make an image. I draw, paint or wipe the inky design with water based inks onto a plexiglass plate. When the work is finished, I place a wet paper over the plate and run through the manual press. The monotype is a unique image as its name implies and that cannot be identically repeated. After it is printed, it may take hours or days to complete the artwork by adding desired colors, burnished lino shapes or collage.
